This trend is not likely to abate soon. According to the William Reed Group, members of the Millennial generation and Generation Z are more likely to buy organic drinks and food. Noting that consumption of organic foods has less to do with income and more to do with age demographics.

Because of this blooming popularity, organic farming is reaching critical mass in much of the continent. The “newer” lands of Mackenzie Region, however, boast an impressive wealth of organic farmland acreage. Today, more than half of the province’s organic producers live in Mackenzie Region.

In 2018, the 272 organic operations in our Mackenzie County include a significant percentage of the organic oat and organic pea acreage in Canada and 96% of her organic pea acreage. It is an exciting time to be on the frontier of an organic revolution!
